Access to the Facility
The BSB D307 Sterilizer Facility is located on the 3rd floor of the Baylor Sciences Building and is available for use by Baylor University researchers. To ensure safe and reliable operation, sterilizer performance is routinely tested on a weekly/monthly basis.
The D307 Sterilizer Facility is a controlled-access space. Autoclaves are available by reservation through the booking system, and walk-up use is not permitted.
To use the facility, researchers must apply for and receive card access approval from the Molecular Biosciences Center (MBC) Director. Please note that access to the Sterilizer Facility is separate from access to the MBC main laboratory.
All users are required to complete training before using the facility. This includes an online safety course through Baylor’s Department of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), followed by an in-person training session. In-person training is provided by the MBC Director or a designated MBC staff member. For safety and consistency, students may not train other students, and only trained users are permitted to enter the facility.
A laundry area is available within the D307 Sterilizer Facility for washing laboratory attire and washable lab gear. Personal items may not be laundered.
