BSB instrumentation specialist supports Baylor researchers by working with Faculty, Staff, Postdocs, Graduates, and Undergraduate students who work with scientific research equipment. Primary duties involve planning and design, installation, repair and maintenance of scientific equipment.

About Our Instrumentation Specialist:

Dr. Hong Xu joined our team in 2021 as our Instrumentation Specialist.  She has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in ion physics, ion optics, high vacuum technology, molecular beam techniques, and mass filters. She is experienced at performing preventive maintenance, intricate alignment, and calibration procedures to achieve maximum operating efficiency of instrument systems. She works closely with each of our service centers to assist the Baylor Science Building. She also provides services for individual research labs for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance.
